Experience the success of our Partnership Training program in a group setting!
Socialization is one of the key factors to any successful training program, and so T&T has created a unique spin on the traditional Group Dog Training class. We offer a handful of group training options where owners can progress at their own pace, or really focus on the specific skills that their dogs need most. Experience a refreshing, individual-focused course that still allows a small group to learn and progress together while not losing the perspective that every dog and handler team is unique!
Classes are scheduled when we have 3 or more dog/handler teams signed up for a class, and are available weekday evenings and on Saturdays. To see what classes are currently available, please visit our SQUARE ONLINE STORE!
*Disclaimer: For safety, no aggression issues will be addressed in group courses. Talk to one of our trainers about Private Lessons!
Because we train in an outdoor setting, our class offerings are seasonal. Typically we will run classes from April through the end of November. Private lessons and Board & Train options available year-round!
Puppy/Basic Partnership Training
Length: 8 weeks
Open to any age of dog in need of core skills and basic training, with puppies <1 year eligible to test for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Award. This class provides the critical foundation behaviors every dog needs, such as: basic commands, leash skills, education and recommendation of available training tools (collars, harnesses, etc.), problem behavior solutions (chewing, jumping, etc.), and proper human and dog greeting behaviors. This is a great starting place for puppies, newly adopted dogs, dogs with no previous training, or anyone looking for a new way to do things or brush up on existing skills. It’s also an EXCELLENT way to give your dog socialization in a manner that is a safe and positive experience.
This 8-week class has 6 weeks of structured learning and two practice/troubleshooting weeks in an alternate meeting location (week 3 and week 6). At T&T we know that everyone (human and canine) learn in different ways and at different paces, and our philosophy for our group classes is, “No Dog Left Behind.” This format allows owners and dogs to get caught up if they miss a week, get help if they are having trouble with a particular skill, or just spend extra time with their dogs perfecting their communication!
Have you and your dog got the basics nailed down, but want to do more? Maybe you’re looking for more of a challenge, something new and fun to do, or are interested in pursuing a dog sport? Look here for information on any classes with topics outside of Basic House & Field Manners!
AKC Canine Good Citizen Preparation
Length: 5 weeks
This class focuses on the skills needed to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. This class will address each item of the test, a mock test, and includes testing during the final class. Learn more about the Canine Good Citizen Test!
Length: 4 weeks – continuing
This class is open to any age or level of training, though we recommend that your dog know a few basics, like Sit & Down.
This is a class meant to challenge both the dog and handler in terms of the dog’s ability to learn new and difficult behaviors and the handler’s ability to teach them! This class covers learning theory, operant conditioning, and different ways of teaching. It focuses on teaching complex tricks, challenge behaviors (balancing on a stool, pivoting, four-feet-in-a-box, etc.) as well as discussions on mental enrichment for dogs with busy minds! Plus, it’s FUN! This is an incredible way to bond with your dog and learn how to communicate more effectively.
Once you have completed the first block of this course, you can re-enroll to continue learning new tricks! The curriculum for this class is fluid and changes based on what students wish to learn!
